Before becoming a teacher I spent 8 years in the high tech industry where I was laid off a lot more that I want to say and I have found my life's journey to be filled with many speed bumps. But for each of these rough patches, the constant thread of hope that always keeps me going is the knowing that this too shall come to an end...
As bad and as difficult as this school year has been, as of this afternoon the school year is officially over yet again proving that no matter how bad things get, it always comes to an end.
And you know what the funny thing is? Even as bad as this year has been, I am already jazzed up for exactly 80 days from right now which is the first day of our new school year.

The cyclical aspect of teaching is also one I am looking forward to. No matter how great or how frustrating one group of students will be, the slate is wiped clean next year.
I stumbled onto your blog from following links around until I found a recently updated teaching blog. I'm looking to teach middle school math a year from now. Good luck with Halo 3, but I won't bet against the middle schoolers if you get Xbox live--prepare to eat some dirt!
Middle school math huh? Boy talk about "eating dirt"...hehehe
I have always said that people have to be born into being a middle school teacher and if you know that is what you goal is, then it must be for you. If you ever have any questions, feel free to drop me a line (addy is on the right hand column)
